Code of Practice: what it is

The Code of Practice introduces a quality certification for companies engaged in the handling of sensitive goods: transport of dangerous goods, perishable goods, industrial waste and pharmaceutical products. The goal is to ensure safety and sustainability for all parties involved in road transport activities; to introduce a system that regulates responsibility in the logistics chain, from the owner of the goods to the shipper and carrier.

Bonus Practice Code: the subsidy for businesses

The Central Committee of the National Roll of Lorry Drivers approved the technical standard Code of Practice for the certification of the Road Transport Safety Management System (GSA). The GSA is the result of a process that started with the enabling law no. 32 of 1 March 2005, concluded with the subsequent legislative decrees 268/05, 285/05 and 284/05. With Resolution no. 3 of 2021, the procedures for the accreditation of certification bodies and the criteria for the qualification of inspectors were updated. With Resolution no. 4 of 8 March 2022, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport endorsed what the Central Committee proposed at its meeting on 3 February 2022; a subsidy for the first 100 companies wishing to start the process of quality certification according to the Code of Practice standard, up to a maximum expenditure of EUR 2,000, is recognised. The cost of certification is borne by the Central Committee.
