The government has allocated 25.3 million euros from 2022 to 2026 for a program that provides a voucher of up to a maximum of 2,500 euros for young people between 18 and 35 who intend to obtain a driving license and professional qualifications.

The “Young driver license program for road transport” provides 3.7 million euros for 2022 and 5.4 million for all subsequent years up to 2026.

The details

The measure provides for the refund of up to 80% on a non-repayable basis of the costs incurred to obtain the category C or E licenses, with the relevant qualifications (for example, CQC ). The request to obtain reimbursement of expenses for obtaining the motor vehicle driving license (category B) is not valid.

The requirements for requesting a refund

all young people between the ages of 18 and 36 can obtain the refund, provided they are unemployed or have citizenship income. The driving license bonus does not require the presentation of the ISEE.

How to submit the application

In the period from 1 July 2022 to 31 December 2026 all young people can request reimbursement of expenses for obtaining a driving licence.

The submission methods will be clarified by the implementing decree of the competent Ministry, which will probably establish an online platform through which to request reimbursement.
